Snow Day

Aaah, the runny nose of winter begins its long snuff. Zaya and Mim are already on outfit two, and the free-from-school dorm guys are running around in shorts because they got their pants wet looking for sledding fodder. (They even tried the top of Zaya's sand turtle, but it didn't work well, thank goodness.) We had our first snow of the season last night, and I gave my children their required 10 min. to run in the snow. Just long enough for a couple of runny noses and some wet legs. Oh, and some pictures, which was actually one of the main reasons I let them go out. Isaiah was out with the dorm boys for a while before Mim and I joined them. He loved it, and I had a hard time convinving him to come back into the house. I've been baking today, and feeling like a real "homemaker". I made hot chocolate for the Dorm guys and their friends and they'll get some of the sticky buns too, assuming they come out edible. This is my first attempt. I'm so proud of myself; I didn't even use the bread machine to make the dough.

Aaron drove to work this morning, and I sure hope he's able to drive home this evening. At least he has tomorrow off, so he won't have to worry about driving in the morning. I'm off to separate my tussling children. . .again. Isaiah is chasing Miriam around with a gigantic stuffed duck, and then getting mad when she tries to grab it from him. *sigh* the sweet bliss of motherhood.

J didn't leave for work until 9 (he's usually there by 6 or 7). It is a total ice slick here. Our snow is coming now. He took my car today, I just hope he gets home safely and gets his work done so he doesn't have to work tomorrow.

You guys stay safe and warm!

All I've done is sleep. Well, that and answer the silly phone where PC dist keeps calling wanting me to sub!! We cannot get it through their heads that that is NOT an option. It's an automated system, and I need my password to tell it to shut up, and I don't have it anymore because I chunked it with great glee this last May.

Now that I think about it, I've graded a huge stack of papers too. Yay!

Your kids are adorable.

Can you believe OSU even closed today?? The Child is is just sitting back in amazement, lol.

After we learned that my school was out for today, Edward was going to drive Emma to work, because she has antilock brakes and traction control, but for the first time in anyone's memory, his office shut down today too. He's fretting a bit because he has a ton of work to do.

Wow! Look at all that snow. Nothing here. It's suppose to be our turn tomorrow. Our first Chicago snow.

We had about 6 inches, but lots of wind, so their are big drifts of 1-2 feet in places. Of course, we Texans still had school! The kids were bummed. Temps are dropping down around 0 tonight.

My advice to all my loved ones tonight...cuddle up with your snuggle bunnies and...ahem...well, you know.

P.S. The kids are adorable! Mine are going to want to be out in this mess when they get out of school, and boy am I dreading all the wet, slushy mess they will drag back into the house!

And you didn't think you'd get snow.

Man Oklahoma weather is screwy.

I just looked at the doppler. You guys look like your getting it good. We just got issued a blizzard warning and I'm trying to convence J to come home.

Love those snow pictures. So much fun to see them all bundled up with their cute little red noses sticking out!

Hope you're feeling better.
