Thursday Thirteen #14

13 reasons I prefer my contacts

1. I look like a total geek in my glasses. Every pair I've ever tried.
2. Peripheral vision. It's nice.
3. My kids can't bend my contacts. They bent my glasses within a week of their purchase.
4. No headaches and eye strain with my contacts
5. No smudges and scratches on my contacts. If they get bad, I toss them and put in a new pair
6. No one can tell how strong my prescription is when I'm wearing my contacts. They don't even know I'm near-sighted at all.
7. I can see around me without turning my head. (Goes with #2, but slightly different.)
8. My contacts don't fog up when I come inside from the cold or drink something hot.
9. My eyes look the size God made them when I'm wearing my contacts, instead of 50% smaller through my glasses lenses.
10. My toddlers can't reach up and grab my contacts off my face.
11. Contacts don't make indentations on my nose.
12. Did I mention my glasses make me look like a geek?
13. Even with this stupid infection in one eye, I would rather just wear one contact than find and wear those glasses.

good list. I prefer my contacts as well. I finally bought a pair of glasses for those times your eyes are red and swollen. I hate do hate putting them back in though

Amen to contacts! If I wore glasses, my son would take them off and try to wear them, I'm sure. Hope your eye infection heals!

I prefer contacts too, but for the last year or so, I've been getting terrible headaches when I wear my contacts for any length of time. I baffle my eye dr.

I really just want to have lasik (sp?) and be done with contacts AND glasses. :)

I've never even considered contacs. I Can Not touch my eyeballs.

It creeps me out to see my wife do it. I have to look away like it's open heart surgery or something.

Sadly I can't wear contacts. I tried for a few months and really loved the freedom of it, but my eyes didn't.

I'm so with you! I hate the way I look in my glasses and will do anything to NOT wear them. And there's nothing better than peripheral vision!!!

Great list. My Still Waters (my second Baby Girl) wears contacts. I can hear her saying so many of the things you wrote on your list. LOL!
Well, except about the wee ones messing with your glasses. We no longer have wee ones around. My youngest is 10.

I tried contacts YEARS ago. I couldn't handle it. I couldn't get use to the feeling that there was something in my eye. LOL! Maybe they are new and improved now. I should give it a try.

Hope you have a blessed Thursday!

I had all those same reasons why I preferred contacts over eyeglasses. Glasses are such a pain. I, however, was so fortunate to get LASIK done in January, and let me tell ya...that was the best money I have ever spent!!!

I am so thankful to not have to deal with either glasses or contacts anymore! Maybe someday you will be able to get it too!

That's a great list of reasons to love contacts. I am guessing that you really don't look like a geek in glasses. We are always so hard on ourselves!

I'm starting to think about going back to contacts. I hate having to wear clip-on shades instead of regular ones. I'm a little leery because when I used to wear contacts (a long time ago) I could always feel them in my eyes like an eyelash or something. You certainly do make some good points for them though.

I am in the process of writing a post (give it a little time) but I am nominating you for something. Go over and check it out soon...when I'm done.

All good reasons to wear contacts, but everytime I did, they always made my eyes water uncontrollably, so I looked like I was crying all the time, which is gross!

Haha! I love Jam's reaction!
I don't wear them now because I cannot get a pair that I can't feel, and believe me I try all the time!
But, I've seen a pic of you in your glasses and I did not agree with your assesment of that!
And yes, you are cute and its a compliment! Your features are just so delicate and sweet, just CUTE, and your personality is sweet and cute, too.
