Double Take

At first glance, one might think, "Oh, what a darling little girl. Look at her cute little sundresses (Thank you Grandma T) and her lovely smile. But wait, what has that child done to herself? Well, the first one is A&D Diaper Cream, and the second is a Sharpie marker. The irony here is that while she was ritually tattooing herself with Sharpie, my friend was in the kitchen telling me how well-behaved my children had been the previous morning in the nursery during Bible study. Apparently, God thought I was getting a big head. I really did know better, because the A&D fiasco had happened right before said Bible study. "Look Mommy, look! Mimi lotion!"

I live that stuff all the time. Every one of my kids liked to smear stuff on themselves and write on their bodies. I keep telling them that God made their skin perfect and He doesn't want them to put bad inks on it, but they just want to decorate it for God. Or just for fun, who knows.

Lillian did a similar thing with Desitin. All over her face, outlining her lips and everything. Rather like a mini Al Jolson.

Alli and Ren loved to get into my make up drawer and "play" with my stuff. The worst thing they did was put my chapstick on the dog and then put the chapstick tube back into my drawer-yuck! They then told me what they had done after I had applied the chapstick to my own lips-double yuck!

Ah, a sweet, normal little girl. :)

Hope you're doing well, Babystepper!

I feel your pain.

I have a couple of pictures of Number One Daughter at age two with diaper creme from her cheeks to her toes and she's buck naked.

Of course, I was the one supposedly watching her and was actually reading a book. I realized I hadn't heard her in a while (always a bad sign) and went in and she had stripped down and covered every inch of her body that she could reach. She looked like an aborigine getting ready for a ritual.

That stuff's actually kinda hard to wash off too. It took two baths to get it all.

Sharpie. Bummer.

My son had a thing with the diaper cream for a while. I kept hiding it and he kept getting into it. We still have stains on the mattress from it. That stuff is hard to get out.

OH dear...kids can get into things so fast! It is great to take pictures of it, though. Thanks for sharing! :) I like your "About me" statement...very well written!
