Of Slugs and Swarovski

Something very tragic happened here at our house on Sunday morning. I accidentally shattered a star point off of my lovely new Swarovski pendant. I was trying to put it on and it slipped off the chain and hit our tile in the bathroom. I HATE tile! (Just for the record.) Art threw it away for me because I couldn't do it myself and would probably have started bawling.

My poor, long-suffering husband was actually great about it. He said, "Easy come, easy go" alluding to the fact that it hadn't actually cost him anything since it was a 'business courtesy gift' from a vendor at work. But still..!

I just feel awful about it, even though it's been three days now. It was so pretty and it just re-emphasized my basic inability to take care of anything. It's only by the grace of God that I have not inadvertently caused permanent injury to my children or spouse.

Oh, and I still haven't found my wedding ring. I feel like a slug. A clumsy slug.

I tried to upload a cute video to cheer us all up, but it didn't work. Figures.

Keep your chin up! :) It'll get better! And your ring will show up! (When you least expect it!)

Hang in there!

Well, in the larger scheme of things, it was only a trinket...a very pricey, beautiful trinket...but really just a bit of crystal. Someday it won't matter so much. So hang in there. As for the wedding ring, well, the man is more valuable and you still have him, so give him a hug and it will be all better.

Well, the cystal snowflake was pretty, and you were able to enjoy it, and the moment in which it was given to you. Things of this earth are fleeting, I should know,I am the clumsiest person in exsistance.
You are perfectly capable of many great things, being a wonderful mom, and wife are just two of them.
I agree with tendrils, your wedding ring will show up, when least expected.

Okay, I lost my engagement ring before J and I got married for at least 3-4 months. It happens. I found it in the coin pocket of a pair of jeans I rarely (like all other laundry must be dirty) wore. I must have put it in my pocket and hit the little pocket.

V threw it in the trash once (18 months old). Thankfully I had put it on my watch and I just had to find the watch, but it took me over a week to find the time to dig it out (at that time it was a guess as to where it was). I searched all outlets before digging in the trash.

I know the stress. I'm sorry about your necklace.

I am sorry about your broken pendant. I hope you find your ring soon.

Remember as previous people said - your man is there so hug him tight and the rest will take care of itself.

This too will pass ... hope you have a bright week.

The house we bought ten year ago had, as a great selling point, "Italian tile floors".

Not the whole house, the living room and bedrooms are carpeted, but that tile is nothing short of brutal.

We have broken all kinds of shatter-proof dishes by simply dropping them on that floor.

Sorry about your pendant though. A broken plate or a jar of pickles is annoying, but not heartbreaking.

Though falling on tile floors is tough on human bodies too!
