13 songs on my son's mp3 playlist: (And I'm not kidding. He listens to these on our computer for 20-30 minutes at a time. He listens to a lot of different songs, but these are the ones he always comes back to. It all started with the first two on the list. You can see he's branching out a bit by the end.)
1. Beethoven's Fifth Symphony
2. William Tell Overture
3. Bach's Toccata and Fugue
4. Caprice No. 1 (Paganini)
5. Autumn Leaves (sounds like Mancini)
6. Gaudeamus Igitur (British march)
7. The Imperial March (Yeah, from Star Wars)
8. Hall of the Mountain King
9. Oh Fortuna (from the Carmina Burana)
10. The Barber of Seville (by The Great Kat)
11. The Anvil Chorus
12. Four Seasons-Spring (Vivaldi)
13. Kako Kolan Da Se Vijem (Balkan rock)

Your son has fabulous taste in music! My 14 year old daughter loved classical music when she was little. She now plays 4 different instruments in 5 different bands and has 2 first chair positions! Sounds to me like you have a future musician, too!
Great list! Thanks for posting it--Jessica
wow. that's some impressive taste in music your son has! i really like Vivaldi myself.
happy T13!
Thanks for visiting my TT
Nice list of songs we were listening to the jazz version of Beethoven's Fifth the other day.
I love Vivaldi's Four Seasons, though I don't have a preference for season.
I also love his Concerto for Two Trumpets. (My first love was a trumpet player...need I say more?)
That's wonderful that your son will listen to these! It will help him in math, or so they say.
Thanks for coming by my TT!
How wonderful that your son loves classical music! Maybe he'll be a concert pianist when he grows up...or a mathemetician ;-)
Nice list, and how fortunate you are that he has spared you Blues Clues and Disney tunes.
Thanks for visiting early and happy TT!
Your wee one has great taste! We listen to classical music while during our schooling time. We find it very uplifting.
That is so wonderful that he loves classical music, you don't hear that very often. :O) Great list! and Happy TT!
That's cool that he likes classical. All I can get into is the light classical stuff on the music channel through cable.
I can't recocgnize any classical I hear except William Tell Overture, and Beethoven's Fifth.
I have to admit, that any other classical music I hear and recocgize is associated with various Bugs Bunny / Looney Tunes cartoons. When I actually hear Barber of Seville, I "think" Elmer Fudd singing "Kill de Wa-a-a-a-bit!"
I did go to Louisiana public schools, and I like heavy metal, so what do I know.
Oh my goodness! I have NO clue! LOL
Of course, I don't listen to music at all unless forced to by dh or kids in the car. They all like Christian Rock. They follow some band called Skilett around and laugh at me for thinking Alien Youth was a band.
I've actually seen him "sing" hall of the Mountain King...he really gets into it. I'm glad he got introduced to all this fabulous music before he had a chance to be influenced away from it.
There are several on there (notably 1,3,7,8,9, parts of 10) that I just love, although I have to stay away from most of the Toccata and Fugue or it'll end up making me nervous later. :( But that's so funny that he likes that specific style. And now I'm curious about Balkan rock; never heard it before.
